Caninese Italy Extra Virgin Olive Oil

This month we are featuring a Caninese Extra Virgin Olive Oil

native to central Italy, the Caninese olive has been producing exceptional quality oil for centuries. Our Caninese has the very special designation of being D.O.P.– D.O.P. standing for “Denominazione d’Origine Protetta,” or Protected Designation of Origin. This certification is a very high honor in the country with the world’s highest standards for olive oil, in an area renowned for its olive oil for thousands of years.

With its beautiful green-yellow color characteristic of its cultivar, our Caninese extra virgin displays the best examples of its kind. Fruity in aroma with notes of almond, artichoke and freshly-cut grass, it is pleasantly balanced by a slightly bitter, pungent and herbaceous taste.

Our Caninese extra virgin olive oil brings the flavors and the smells of the Mediterranean to any dish, no matter how elaborate or simple it may be! Pair with our Pear or Blackberry Balsamic vinegars for a delightfully sweet-yet-tart balance of flavors in a dressing for salads or roasted vegetables. On its own, the Caninese is an excellent choice for dipping crusty artisanal breads or to finish soups, pastas, stews or other grain dishes. For a special treat in vinaigrettes or drizzled over exotic meats, pair the Caninese with any of our luxury Signature Reserve Balsamic vinegars.

Organic is much more than merely a label or a certification. Organic stands for quality and conviction– for the responsible use of natures resources
